Local Experience

Three Decades of Remodeling Northern Idaho Bathrooms

Chuck and Norm Kile have been remodeling bathrooms across the Coeur d'Alene region for more than 30 years. We've built bathrooms of every shape and size, tiny guest baths, sprawling master suites, and everything in between, and we know what styles sell well around here and what features hold up to real family use.

We also know the ins and outs of local regulations and the Idaho and Washington permitting processes for plumbing and electrical work. In older homes especially, it pays to have someone walk the project before you start tearing things apart, a pre-demo inspection can save you thousands and keep a small remodel from becoming an unexpected whole-house project.

Kile Construction is a full-service residential general contractor. From swapping a vanity to reconfiguring the whole layout, it's like having your own personal builder ready to customize your bathroom exactly to your liking.

FAQ

Bathroom Remodeling Questions

Straight answers to what homeowners ask most before starting a bathroom remodel.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Most bathroom remodels run 3–6 weeks. A guest bath refresh can be faster; a full master bath gut with a custom tile shower and relocated plumbing typically takes 5–6 weeks. You'll get a written schedule with your estimate.
Can I use other bathrooms in the house during the remodel?
Yes, we contain the work area with dust barriers and protect adjacent rooms. For single-bathroom homes we plan the schedule so you're without a shower for the shortest possible stretch.
Do you do custom tile showers?
Yes. Proper waterproofing, Schluter, hot-mopped pan, or equivalent, curbs, niches, and tile layout are the details that matter most. Water is what destroys bathrooms, and we get that part right.
Will you inspect the framing and plumbing before we start?
Yes. In older Coeur d'Alene homes we often find hidden rot, outdated plumbing, or past DIY work. We inspect and talk through any repair needs before demo so you're not surprised mid-project. It can save significant money and heartache.
Can you move the layout, toilet, tub, shower?
Yes. Relocating fixtures, expanding a shower, or converting a tub to a curbless walk-in are all common projects. We engineer and permit the plumbing and structural changes properly.
Do you pull permits for a bathroom remodel?
Yes. Plumbing, electrical, and structural work requires Idaho or Washington permits. We pull and coordinate every inspection with the jurisdiction. Call (208) 660-2470 or request a meeting online to get started.
